Please do not steal this, this is my digital portrait of Christoph Waltz I had to do for class recently and it’s one of the first digital pieces I am proud of. Honestly it’s no prefect but eh. I still like it.
Reference photo I used for this portrait is found here(I do not own the original photo of him): http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120404183902/cossawards/images/7/73/Christoph-Waltz-25918.jpg

This is awesome!

The Zero Theorem di Terry Gilliam - Il romance di fantascienza come mind-game

cinerunner:

An observation on Water for Elephants:

In this movie there was something about Reese’s (35) interaction with R.Patz (25)  that read big sister (if not downright maternal) rather than, you know, a Ryan Gosling/Rachel McAdams passion for the ages?…it may indeed be enough to watch two beautiful people kissing in a train car in the shadow of an elephant, but if the beautiful people in question seem more like big sister/little brother, the whole thing falls a bit flat and/or creepy. In fact, weirdly, Reese Witherspoon actually had a bit more of a spark with murderous villain, Christoph Waltz…

…who, incidentally, was amazing and may have saved this movie for me.  How does he do that? How does he manage to be such a pleasure to watch work while consistently playing these abhorrent characters?  The mind boggles.

- My thoughts exactly!!http://whynotuspostcards.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

I agree. The main problem with Water for Elephants was IMHO the complete lack of chemistry between Reese and Pattinson. On the other hand, Reese had quite a strong and weirdly sexy chemistry with Christoph. That’s bad, if it is supposed to be a romantic film and we are supposed to believe in the unstoppable romance between the two leads.

And that’s it. No stop motion. No overblown Johnny Depp performance. Helena Bohnam Carter doesn’t even get murdered in this film. It’s a grown-up movie with an imagination. A fable that’s also real. A Cinderella story where she fairy godmothers herself. Harrowing but never hopeless. And most of all it’s a story about claiming what’s yours. Not for money or fame, but just to be able to sleep at night. All we have in this world is what we create and it’s up to us both to share it widely and keep it close. This is the kind of movie that Tim Burton should be making and one that’s bound to awaken a long dormant (or at least apologetic) fandom.
